Cape Wine Racks have been manufacturing wooden dowel wine racks in Somerset West for over 20 years and specialize in the manufacture of racks ranging from our standard sizes to customer requirements including arches, stairways and complete cellars.

Wine racks can be made as simple and plain wine bottle storage to pieces of show art furniture. The Cape Wine Racks way is to provide a most economical and practical, yet aesthetically pleasing wine storage system to suit all needs and bottle sizes up to the large Burgundy type bottles.

Racks are manufactured from 25mm and 12mm pine dowels, drilled and glued together to form a solid matrix capable of withstanding bottle weight up to 3 meters in height and can be supplied either in plain pine, stained a dark brown or spray painted in any color.

Large racks in excess of a hundred bottles in size are fitted with wooden mounting blocks and then secured to the wall. Standard racks come in sizes ranging from 6 bottles to 96 bottles.

Bottles are spaced at 102mm centers and the racks are designed to store bottles in size up to the large Burgundy bottle. Magnum / champagne racks are made from 32mm X 12mm pine dowels and these are spaced at 120mm centers. Racks can be made to any size to suit requirements.

Pricing range from R12.00 per bottle ( excl. vat ) dependent on complexity and configuration of the rack such as stair wells, arches and inclines. Painted racks are priced on specification.
